Alarm duration?

Hi there.

1st post for me, a new 2009 Clubman owner. I did a quick search here but couldn't find the answers. Point me to any previous post if pertinent. THANKS!

Here's are my questions:

1) I had the dealer install the OEM alarm system today. If the alarm should sound (and I'm not around to hear it), how many minutes till it stops and resets? I do hope it resets!

2) If I find the alarm system to be too sensitive, is there any way for me to adjust the alarm without going back to the dealer?

The 3-page foldout "manual" doesn't answer these questions. I hope someone out there can help. Thank you!

I would also be interested in the answers to these questions. My Clubman S is scheduled for an OEM alarm installation on 12/9/09.

I have a couple of additional questions also:
1. does the MINI key fob also control the alarm?
2. did it take a long time for the dealer to re-program your Clubman after the alarm was installed?

Thanks -

1) Yes, the MINI's key fob arms/disarms the alarm whenever you lock/unlock the car. Check out your MINI's manual for abbreviated instructions (p.24).
2) Dropped the car off at 7:30am, and the car was ready for pickup at 10:30am.

I've read in other posts that the installation of the alarm is quick, but it's the "reprogramming" that might extend the time your car stays in the shop. Sometimes the "program crashes", and the programming must start from scratch, from what I hear.

Still waiting for answers to my questions in the original post.

thanks!
