R55 Clubman S exhaust options?
OK, I just installed the Aero Turbine, model AT2525 (2.5" in/out) . I removed the resonator and second cat and put the Aero Turbine muffler in it's place and removed both mufflers and replaced with straight pipe.

I really like the sound, deeper, no popping or cracking, ie no ricey sound. At idle it's just a tad louder, but with the windows cracked and stereo down it sounds meaner especially when it gets above 3K . $87.99 for muffler and $190 for install it's sure worth the price. I can confirm my exhaust gas temps were lowered from a max of 1500F to 1300F so a plus for sure for the turbo life.

If you're on a budget, you can just replace the center resonator with a straight piece of exhaust pipe and that will increase the sound. I'm not convinced that the exhaust from a JCW Tuning kit's mufflers are any different that the stock ones, it just has the center resonator removed.
Nope , why would there be ? The second cat is not monitored . And the cat temps dropped from 1500 to 1300 , still plenty hot enough to do it's job and may help
the turbo life. The muffler manf claims to drop exhaust gas temps and my initial readings confirm that. As to more HP and Tq well not enough to notice, I just like hearing
I have an engine now and with my intake and this exhaust and windows cracked I sure hear the turbo and BOV now.
Here is were I got the muffler, the best price I could find. $87.99 with free shipping. http://www.moes-performance.com/Aero...r_p/at2525.htm

OK, I wasn't buying any claims of great improvement on MPG with the aero muffler, so I checked it on the 25 mile HWY drive to have it installed, I was at 35-36 mpg, saw 38-39 on way home. Drove it another 100 miles around home and today took a trip on the hwy doing about 65-70 mph and I got 45-46 MPG Holly crap ! Then I took surface roads on 35-40 mph in Dallas, I saw 35-36MPG . I trust the AVG mpg computer as it has always been real close to actual. If this keeps up I will be impressed.
Now on my daily commute to work which is 5 miles of stop and go on city streets I have not seen a difference, so apparently the 2nd cat and stock exhaust was only restricting at higher loads or this muffler really does as they say, still unsure but very pleased so far.

O-ST mufflers
Anyone heard a Megan Racing O-ST? Says they are quieter than their race mufflers with a very deep sound but I can't find a single review or video. This is an oval canister.

My car is my car and I don't share so I don't care so much what passengers think
, not that I take any very often.
I don't think they would take much modification if any based on my measurements. Looks like a pretty good low cost option for a better sound and better flowing exhaust. I would still be interested in hearing what the "turbine" muffler setup sounds like.

Thanks a bunch. I got a quote today on matching your setup. I'm in Canada so its going to cost me a bit more but seems like a cheaper solution that has worked well for you. Now that you've had it for a bit do you have any complaints or issues?
Nope, for what it cost I'll probably not change it. In Canada are you going to be able to remove 2nd cat ? It may sound quieter if left on .
I don't know what the law is here but when I told the guy what I wanted he didn't say anything about it and this is one of the biggest Exhaust places in the area so I'm sure he would know. When I go in to look into it further I'll ask him more specifically. Thanks for the heads up!
Nice set up, most will drone under heavy loud with that custom set up, glad it does not drone at normal load. Lucky, mine droned like crazy with custom set up by that was on an R56 MCS.
