Power Window Up Then Half Way Down

I know there are a few threads on power window problems already, but most seem to be the window won't work at all. Mine was when you open the window, then press the button to close it........the window goes all the way closed, then immediately re-opens to half way. You can try again and again and the same thing happens. I read that resetting via holding the open toggle for 20 seconds works......but not for me. Off to the dealer for my first visit. They could not figure it out and had to call BMW for advise. They ended up re-loading the computer and all is well. Now if I can remember how to pair my cell to the car again, we will be back to normal. All under warrantee. P.S. Also mentioned the diesel like clatter noise at intermittent statups. They pleaded ignorance but I know they know, it's a problem which they obviously don't have a quick fix for. At least it's now on record that the noise is there.

The window thing happened to mine to 2 weeks ago. (right before I totaled my car). It would only close all the way if I hot button up in very small amounts. dealer was aware of the issue and re did the computer as a quick fix. They also told me that Mini was releasing a computer patch for this issue in the next few weeks or so. So you may want to check back with your dealer with that issue in case it happens again. After the issues I had with my old Jetta the window thing was no big deal. I am waiting insurance company and will hopefully be getting a new Mini in the next few weeks.

I have been having the same issues and did also hear from everyone on this forum that a reset of the computer does the trick. I am heading up to my dealer this week and I hope they address the window issue and fix it. Good looks people....

You'll need to take it in to the dealer and have them reset your computers software. They have a new software version out that I had installed a few weeks ago. I had to wait 2 hours for the software to download. Hopefully this will do the trick, I've had the same problem twice.

I've had my Clubman in at least 4 times for this (after trying the DIY reset method). The first time, they couldn't reproduce it. The second time, they did a software upgrade (made no difference). Third time, another software upgrade (helped a little). Fourth time they replaced the regulators. Since then (couple months ago), it's happened a few more times.
I'm going have them make another attempt when they replace my right/rear speaker (for the 2nd time).

Mine started yesterday to only go halfway down, then stop, today it decided to go to about 2 inches down and then stop. Seems to have a mind of its own.
