R55 Roof Graphic Installation
Roof Graphic Installation
Greetings from a soon to be mini owner - will be ordering in the next week once I make up my mind on a few options. This leads to the question of roof graphic - Checkered flag
The dealer wants 3.5 hours labor or $400 to install. I realize it is a picky job but $400 seems a bit much.
1) Can someone give me an idea of what their dealer charged?
2) Has anyone done it themselves? Pros and cons welcome
3) Are third party graphics better/worse/same quality as OEM?
Hopefully there will be a BRG ClubmanS on its way soon.
Regards
Dennis

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm located in Lansing, MI. I'll get the yellow pages out tomorrow.

No sunroof - I've had them in other cars but seldom use them.

Lansing, Michigan eh?? Have you seen me in my white clubbie w/checkered flag mirror caps? My office is in Old Town :-)
I'm planning to install OEM bonnet stripes myself when the weather finally warms up...
Amzingly enough, I actually spotted a TWIN to my clubbie this week -- also in Lansing! Exactly same spec except for my mirror caps!!!

haven't spotted you yet but I'll be on the look out. I have seen a couple of Coopers in town but no Clubbies yet.
Would like to hear about your buying experience - i.e dealer did you use? I was to the Grand Rapids dealer today and since I wanted to order a car they could/would not guarantee me a specific finance option/rate and basically said that I would have to wait until the car arrived 12 weeks later to find out my cost options.
Anyone else run into this?

Motorcity Mini. It's 60 miles East of us and Grand Rapids is 60 miles west.
Mortorcity had a greater selection on the lot. Didn't know I was gettgin a clubbie til I got there with my wife who said the justa was just too small... so she pointed at the clubbie and that was it :-)
I bought off the lot. I wanted the sunroof (premium package) and the manual transmission. They had two pepper white with black tops exactly alike and I picked one. I went there on weekday afternoon knowing that I would buy one. Didn't use their financing. There was no dealing on price.
I had been researching the Mini, but sort of bought under duress as the 1980 TR7 Convertible I had been driving daily for 6 months (yes including winter) started having problems I couldn't fix in zero degree weather.
The first morning I had the clubbie it was MINUS 15 degrees... I'm thinkin the TR would have balked at that anyway :-)))
Anywho, I love it and my average MPG (primary selling point) over 6,000 miles is 38.4 :-)
