Strange run flat behavior

I decided I don't like run flats - way too noisy and hard. So I checked the tyre pressure assuming the dealer had it too high, which they often do in my experience.

No, it was 6 psi below the 35 recommended.

This morning I inflated them to the correct pressure and they now feel softer and run quieter to me.

I'm either tripping, or there is now enough air in them that more of the support is being done by air instead of the side wall. Doesn't make complete sense to me, but it's the only thing I can think of.

Thoughts?

that makes sense to me. since now they aren't riding on the super duper stiff sidewall there should be less noise being generated by the tire.

Makes sense to me too. Which brand of tire are you running?
