My 08 JustaClubman has Goodyear 195/55R16 RunFlats and I want a tire with similar traction and feel, BUT be Quieter and a Smoother ride.
What is a better choice?
I have experience with Michellin XH4 and was Very Impressed with Low Noise and great ride on my wifes boring Old car, but what about "MY" IMPORTANT favorite Car ? ?
Inquiring Minds just got to know.
What is Your opinion for whom ever has experience on a few brands?

Hi evryone !

I hope you can help me?!

Does anyone got the JCW 17" R112 Challenge rims on a lowered Clubman? (

I got the H&R springs 35mm,on 7,5x17" tecnomagnesio rims(italian brand),and 215/40 tires on it...

It looks pretty big, and it fit perfect!
BUT...i need a new look for the next year - cause i want original MINI rims - but they have to look sharp as well!!!

Here a pic of my orange CooperClubman in Cologne - September 09.

My personal choice would be Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid in 205/55/16. They have a great ride ( I had their predecessors [ G 009s ] on my previous car and on now my wife's 325), are quiet, grip well, and mine lasted over 75K miles. The 205 size will give an even better ride and will reduce the speedometer to actual speed difference.
I replace run flats on the 325 and the ride difference was phenomenal!

dj: what sort of mileage hit did you take going from 195s to 205s?

I have 205/45/17's in the Ghost. When it's time to replace them i plan to go to 215's

As I understand, the mileage hit should be minimal. The 205's are 2lb heavier (25 vs 23 for the 195's), but the difference in rotations per mile should make up for that unsprung weight gain.

I have a Justa Clubman 2008 and am interested in Focal F5 (165) Wheels.
Two issues.
1. Can't find a dealer who sells this discontinued wheel.
2. Local dealers keep asking way too much info..
Size I know 17X7. Bolt pattern size= 104mm? Offset=? Pressure sensor type=TPMS?
Where can I find this info?

Bolt pattern: 4x100

Centerbore: 56.1mm

Offset: Anywhere around 45-40 if you want a conservative fitment for 7" wide wheels. Recommended offset will vary with width.

TPMS: The sensors are specific to MINI's. 2010's differ from earlier clubmans. You order through tire store or through dealer. The sensor is mounted in the wheel in conjunction with the valve stem.

Thank you rally@stancedesign I appreciate it alot. I was looking at some paperwork and a local dealer who says they "Might" be able to find the Focal F5 for me mentioned a 30 degree offset. Does that sound right? Is the Offset the amount the wheel is in/out of the wheel well? Example of 50 degrees would make the bolt face surface centered on the wheel?

30mm offset will be too low for a 17x7, unfortunately.

Yes, the offset determines how far in or out of the wheel well the wheel will sit.

It's not a degree number. It's commonly measured in millimeters. It's the distance of the mounting surface from the centerline of the wheel.

ASA 17" wheels

Hi, I got these wheels from a forum member and saved big $$ they only had less than a thousand miles on them!
Tire rack had the setup for well over 1200.00 plus shipping and taxes.
Good part is they were already mounted, balanced and TPMS included.
When you start to shop for wheels and go up a size it can get costly.
Good luck in your shopping!

Remember to rotate your tires…

Okay, so my Clubbie has 18k miles and I’ve never rotated my tires. A couple weeks ago, I noticed the front tires beginning to get a bit low on tread…I looked at my back tires and noticed that there was still a good amount of tread on them, so I went to America’s Tire where I bought my aftermarket tires to have them rotated…for the first time (I know, I know…they should be rotated about every 6K). Anyhow, upon getting on the freeway after the tire rotation, I started to hear a lot of road noise and noticed a lot of steering wheel vibration. Turns out my rear tires (now sitting in front) had began to “cup” from not having been rotated for such a long time…”cupping” is where your tires begin to form subtle peaks and valleys.

I’m just hopping that these peaks and valleys will gradually wear down now that my rear tires are in front, but I don’t know if this will happen or if my tires are ruined for good. My wife is complaining about the bumpy ride = ( Anyhow, hope someone learns something from my mistake….get your tires rotated.

Did you rotate straight up LF to LR etc or did you cross LF to RR etc?

FYI - The owners manual says do not rotate.

quote from 2009 Clubman manual page 104:

Swapping wheels among the axles

The manufacturer of your MINI recommends that you do not swap the front wheels with the rear wheels as this may impair the handling of your MINI.

Dealer rotated mine before I bought it... unless it's RWD and the rear tires wear faster.
