18"X7.5"
They were on special when I bought them, about $150 each.
Not bad for MOMO's.

OT - I wheel rashed my MINI this weekend and I called the dealer to get a replacement cost. It was just south of $500. Someone there recommended having the wheel repaired. What does that mean - someone sainding down the area? Also, where would I go to get this done? A basic tire store? Any place (marketplace didn't have any R98s) where I could go to find a new wheel?

Sorry, now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Joe

I haven't had a repair done, but I know the fellow that owns the business, and he gets calls from the high zoot (Lambos, Ferraris, AMGs) car dealers. Try wheelbendermender.com. He's in Hickory NC. Even with shipping, it's going to beat the cost of a new wheel.

HTH.

On the R98's I was not able to find them anywhere so i call the manufacturer (Ronal) in Germany and they only sell that wheel to BMW/MINI and in only one size (17x7) and only one bolt pattern (4x100). This makes it exclusive to MINI.

Sorry for the bad news. I was looking for 16" to put snow tires on so that the look of my car did not change much, but no luck.

Popular Wheel Brands

So I'm new to this whole wheel shopping thing and was hoping someone who knew more could tell me what are some of the popular (reasonably priced) wheel brands out there.

I've heard of BBS and Momo, that's about it...are those quality brands? What else is out there?

FYI, I'm only looking to spend something $1000 or less on all 4 wheels.

Take a look at www.tirerack.com they are currently listing a whole bunch of wheels that will fit the clubman. Personally i do not like most of them but that i s just my opinion.

Thanks guys. It's okay. Lesson learned. I guess I'm going to have to wait and save the cash for a new wheel. I'd like to get one used but I don't see them out here or on sunshineminis very often.

Me too. I'm surprised that the collective didn't feel my pain! Spitting nails isn't normal.

Maybe if you posted a photo, we'd feel the pain more acutely? Bide your time, and I bet you'll find some new wheels you love down the line. Too bad you don't live in snow country or you could rationalize using your current wheels for snow tires.

Here is a pic of a BRG/B MCS Clubman with the R99 wheels. I have to say that I haven't seen much brake dust with these wheels. More pics in my gallery.

Clean and British Racing Green - looks so good. Nice wheels and I bet they do hide the brake dust quite nicely.

I'm following this thread, and the other wheel threads on NAM, with much interest, as my Clubman is coming with the stock 15" wheels; the plan is to find something better after winter. I'm getting a sense from the discussion here that, fitment aside (or is that an issue?), wheels that look really cool on an R56 don't always look as good on a Clubman. Are people finding that? If so, can someone with a better eye than mine for aesthetics -- and MINI proportions -- explain why this might be?

I can't believe that nobody has 5-spokers on their Clubmen! I saw an example at the dealer and thought the simplicity of the wheels went with the body quite well. Does anyone else have them? POST A PIC PLEASE! To me, the Clubman looks sweet with 5-spoke wheels.

Just put on the JCW Challenge Cross Spoke R112 Wheels. The "Pace" wheels will be our winter set now...

You might want to checkout the wheels section forum, normally a 16-18 with a width of 7 sometimes you can go 7.5 4x100 bolt pattern, I believe offset is between 38-45 (someone else can confirm this). You can go to tirerack and they will tell you the details on the tires and wheels and whether certain rims will support the tire pressure monitor.

Nice look, happydad! Where did you get the rims? What size are they? Also, how well do they hide the brake dust? Thanks
