I have the outmotoring one and I like it. It's not really an OEM look though due to its shape.

You might want to look at alta....they have a nice stubby. www.altaminiperformance.com

I'm not really sure honestly. I wonder if the plugs are the same. That would be really cool.

I'm sure you could easily attach it to the roof in place of our antenna base....just not sure if you could get it to function. I know many VW people interchange their antenna for the sharkfins that come on the VW suvs and stuff without any problems.

Thanks!!!

I'm going to go to the local BMW dealership to find out about the sharkfin antanae. I'm not real mechanically inclined but I really want to switch out the stock antanae.

Well there's that link to alta a few posts above...and then there's Outmotoring: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...y-antenna.html which has one that I quite like the looks of.

i am cheapskate ... you should know that by now OTRA

not paying $26 for it.

I had one like this on eBay before:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLACK...spagenameZWDVW

and it would do just fine ... as I like the flexible rubber type ... but cannot find a similar one for the new gen cars.

Well when you find a good, cheap one let me know...though I don't really mind the remote control look that much...maybe I'm a cheapskate, too, and that's why I've never gotten one yet?

ok, scored a half-a@@ shorty antenna from ebay ... lenght somewhere in between the oem and the 2" stubbies.

and installed the yellow fogs which are fantastic! ... highly recommended

I think will pass on tinting this car, kind of liking the open feel it gives me.

what else can I do?

If you're looking for a not-too-short antenna, check this out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__Proper-fit-S2000-mini-antenna-aerial-mast-Scion-VW-Audi_W0QQitemZ190257360088QQadnZCarQ20Q26Q20TruckQ 20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadiZ2865QQcmdZViewIte m?hash=item190257360088&_trkparms=72%3A543|39%3A1| 65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

For ten bucks plus shipping, it's been working fine for me. Seems to have no adverse effect on reception, and fits my Clubman's look, IMHO.

alto clef / lurch - can you post some pics of the shorter antenna? I'm kinda confused by thew ebay page. it looks like there are different styles for different cars; or are those the antenna's that this would replace?

thanks!

Yes, there are OEM images for four (I think) different cars, with the 7-inch mast to view for comparison. I'll see if i can post a pic of my installation later today.

Hey - there's a shot of me and my new Pure Silver, too.

Rally, yours does look slick.

The great thing about everyone's Clubman is that they are all so different. Today I saw mine in the rain - with its exterior chrome line - and I thought how beautiful it really was. Too bad I didn't have my camera.
