110% agree.. and that's my suspect point about HF units.. they may look the same/feel the same but I can't believe they every hold calibration long. (sure, for the first bolt, it could be 4%... second 8%.... third... 16%... etc..)

FWIW, the latest digital Snap-on units that go to Boeing (aircraft).. "self lock out" at 60 days to force a recalibration that is then verified and reset by Snap-On.

As a side note... when torquing wheels.... I do a "star pattern"...

30 ft/lbs, 60ft/lbs, 90 ft/lbs...

That's never let me down.. nor have I damaged components...

I agree totally, if you fully tighten the first nut/bolt/screw you probably aren't aligned properly with the rest of the holes anyway.

Same thing happened to me when I did a stud conversion on my Mini. It's just the studs stretching. Check them again in a while, but they probably won't loosen again. Mine didn't. I have the TSW M14x1.25 to M12x15 stud conversion from Way Motor Works.
