stock s exhaust sound

much to my very pleasant suprise i feel that the stock exhaust has a great tone. to those folks that have put 2,000 + miles on their clubman s does the volume or tone change? i think i may have just saved myself a grand when some of the aftermarket folks come out with an exhaust

I've got 3600 miles on mine and I don't hear much of a difference from when it was new. It sounds fine to me and I wouldn't want it any louder inside.

typically aftermarket exhasts aren't just for exhaust notes but to add performance as the aftermarket tubes have less bends and are bigger in diameter....some with a high-flow cat helping to add more performance...

but happiness is key, if you are then all is well

Mine is a EURO-spec and it became much louder after about 500-600 km.. now at 8500 km on the clock it sounds pretty much perfect...MUCH better than the R56 in my opinion

I love cruising with all the windows open, above 3000 rpm it really starts to make noise.. and when you lift off the throttle you get those delicious 'pops' and cackles.. sometimes it makes a HUGE pop .. almost an explosion everybody looks at you

It sure is an emotional car..

i would be quite happy if it stayed the same or even got a bit louder and that's saying something from someone who has changed the exhaust on every car or truck he has owned. from looking at the routing of the exhaust i'm not sure significant hp changes can be made although larger diameter pipes might help turbo spooling. i suspect most people ( i'm including myself ) change exhaust/ muffler to get the sound they want .
