Not trying to stray off topic but waving is dead except among Clubmen! I've seen tons of MINIs in my town but the only people who waved drove Clubbies!

 

I'm inclined to agree except since May, I've only seen 4 other Clubbies, period! Of the other minis of any stripe I've seen, about half wave. But it's so fun when they do!

 

saw 2 clubbies recently...

One just about 5:30pm today, I was going west on baseline & the the HC/B (I am pretty sure it was hot choc) was going east.

Then I was in my xB yesterday evening traveling north on Avondale just about to Lower Buckeye, and it was heading south towards PIR, was about 5:50pm.

 

4:55pm on 02/06, madison, wi...proudfit st & west washington ave, pw/b

 

2/12 Lansing Michigan

noon hour - got a crazy wave from a BRG non clubbie w/white top on W Saginaw

5pm - saw a Clubbie westbound (me eastbound) on I-96 around Okemos - dark color w/white top -- both while driving my own Clubbie...

 

I was (again) in my xB on Lower Buckeye just about to turn onto Avondale, saw a p/w mini going east, was 6 pm..

 

Around 10:00 AM guy in a 1st gen Cooper S was checking out my car on Gross Point Road. I gave him a head nod, and he just stared at me and my car with no response or any sign of emotion. Light turned green and he zoomed past me. Sorry buddy, I'm still in break-in mode, and I have a Base Clubman.

11:30AM on Milwaukee Ave in Niles, pulling into a strip mall. A lady in a Green Cooper smiled, I waved, and she waved back.

I have only had the car a week, but I have seen quite a handful of MINI drivers in the Chicagoland area, and no one seems wave.

 

4:45PM this evening, HC or AB Clubbie - believe a S, driver returned wave just over the Framingham/Sherborn border. A week or so prior, in Sherborn on Brush Hill Road, HC w/Silver, (my MINI came up from behind) was pulled over or perhaps the officer wanted a better look at the Clubbie - no chance to wave.

 

I've seen 3 since the beginning of this year. One HC/S driving up 580. I got excited when I saw it and tried to stay in pace with it in an adjacent lane so I could oogle it. I later saw a LB/S Clubman cruising down 80W, but he was hauling down the road faster than I wanted to go (cops are giving out tickets like crazy over here so I didn't want to risk it... oogling on standby).

And the last Clubman I saw was a LB/Blk parked when my coworkers took me out for lunch. They all knew that was the kind of car that I ordered (but mine is NFR/Blk) so we all walked around it and checked it out. I kept looking around to see if the owner was around... probably would be a bit creeped out to see 6 people swarming his car...

 

I forgot to post my 2 sightings!

Both on Saturday the 14th. A DS/B with roof rack on 25 in Biltmore Forest, and a PW/B Justa on Smokey Park Hwy in Candler.

Looks like I'm not the only Clubbie in Asheville anymore!

 

I saw this lovely red one last night traveling northbound on the 405 Freeway in LA...apologies for the bad picture with my iPhone in a moving SUV sedan ride...also saw the ever elusive one that lurks in our neighborhood, but wasn't fast enough to get a picture and can't figure out where it lives!

 

I forgot to mention my latest sighting, which was about 3 weeks ago. I forgot about it as sadly, it was the first paint damage Kazzie sustained! (The *&^$%#@ city insisted on using sand and GRAVEL on the road when it snowed and it wasn't even half an inch, which guarantees I'll have chips on my car! I wish I could sue them for their ignorance but I know the judge won't listen.)
It was snowing and foggy and I couldn't see farther than 500 feet. Suddenly, out of nowhere, another Clubbie cuts in front of me. It was white with very darkly tinted windows.

 

I've seen a CR JCW Clubman and at least one other one (maybe 2) in my town of Prescott (40k), I see quite a few Minis here, over one a day I think.

 

This might be the one I saw last weekend - my first. Followed CR/PS Clubman from 405N to 101N... I continued on to SLO. He got off somewhere after Callabasas. This sighting is what began a sequence of events that landed me here at NAM. Still haven't figured out what I'm ordering, but I'm playing around at miniusa.com and am ready to sell the old X5.

 

X5...The MINI Cooper Clubman (S)...pretty much rocks!!

 

I agree with the not waving thing, have seen dozens of Mini's around Phx, and the ONLY wave I've gotten (and I always wave) is from another MCC.
At least when I'm on my motorcycle at least 50% of other m/c's wave back.

 

While driving my sister's DS/B MINI Cooper S (my baby is still at sea, I'm told), I've had a lot of possibles, but no confirmed waves (and one where I was waved to, but had my hands full with driving and talking on the phone... sorry I didn't wave back!). I don't think people in Cincinnati are big wavers, but I think there are more than a couple that will give head nods. The trouble is that the nods are subtle, so I'm never sure if I actually saw it, or not... especially when there's any kind of sky reflecting on the windshield.

 

Hey! We almost ordered our MINIs at the same time. I ordered mine January 3rd and it's still at sea as well.

 

Maybe our MINIs are playing shuffleboard. :D

Which distribution center is yours landing at? Mine is going to be at the LA distribution center. I'm actually not sure how many distribution centers there are...

Saw this cute HC outside of Trader Joe's this evening...so took a picture of our PW next to it...too cute! I was hoping the owner would come out so we could talk about our Clubmans, but no luck.

 

And nine months later, the first Cafe Au Lait Clubman S.

They drove past me as I was getting out of Lady G...was getting my sushi fix!

 

Saw a Dark Silver/Black Clubbie at Publix today. SHARP!
