I wonder if you could just add the toggle to have the complete "look" without an empty space. Anyone know if there's just the toggle switch as a part?
I remember on my '75 Rabbit there was a big empty hole with a black cap on it where some optional switch should have been. I took the "Emergency Pull" switch off an IBM 360/40 mainframe front panel and mounted it in place of that ugly black cap. It didn't serve any purpose, but it was very reassurring to have an "Emergency Pull" switch just in case I needed it!

I wish they would fix the configurator if one is really only getting only1 rear fog light. It is showing 2 in the configurator, each in the lower rear grills below the bumper.

I just checked....and they don't show the fogs in the grille? Are you perhaps using the regular MINI configurator rather than the clubman? On the MCS the fogs DO come in the lower grilles.

On the clubman configurator, the only picture that shows is the left tail which is where the fog light is.

I did that to my current MINI.

They don't sell JUST the toggle....but generally people will start buying full toggle banks and then selling off the toggles in the classifieds for people who are looking to fill in empty spots.

I just built another Clubman S on the US configurator and it is still showing 2 rear fog lights in the lower grills below the rear bumper.

Is it an easy mod? Do you need to disassemble anything?

Yah you need to disassemble the toggle panel. And I know on the early model you had to drill it out to fit the new toggle.

Notice the license plate on the Clubman, I wonder if an American plate can fit in the same area? Problematic??

Just like all MINI's (clubman or normal) the plate recess is designed for a euro plate and looks "empty" but they still fit.

The US clubmans come with US plate brackets for that area.

As can be seen here:

Do you recall who had the Clubman retrofitted with rear fog?

Do you recall who made the post? I have been trying to find out what is involved in Retrofitting a 2008 Clubman with a rear fog.

Thanks

I looked into this...

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=136173

Here is the thread I started. Had a link to some great instructions. I did confirm that the lamp holder IS in the left side taillight assy. Just a matter of ordering the switch assy, installing it and then having the dealer reprogram the damn car to tell it that the switch is now there.
Although I have been way too busy to attack this job yet.

My E30 and tii were just a matter of wires and switches. No programming needed. The E46...yep, trip to the dealer. Still haven't done that one either.

I was backing out this afternoon and someone knocked on my window to tell me that one of my back-up lights was out. I then felt like a sucker explaining to them that the nicest car I've ever owned only has one back up light.

I have had rear fog lights on my last 3 Audis and have used them for this exact reason. Generally when you flip the switch once or twice, the tailgating offender gets the message.

This all looks good on paper, heck, I don't even have the car yet...but it's finally on it's way! I can't wait to get tinkering!

Update?

Have you had a chance to perform the retrofit with the rear fog?

I see you have a Sparkling Silver Clubman with Hot Chocolate Lounge Leather interior...is that true? Do you have photos inside/outside that you can post?

I am anxiously awaiting my 2009 Sparkling Silver, Hot Chocolate Lounge Leather Clubman...Should have it by the end of next week!
