Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I am learning that the brake dust problem sucks! I just use Ivory dishsoap on them (but not on the car) during washes and that takes care of it. They look intricate but they're really not that bad to clean. It's kind of a bummer, several days after a wash, the car will still be clean but the brake dust on the rims make it look dirty. I will be popping in ceramic brake pads ASAP....once I find out who makes them for the Clubman.

R98 Webspokes are the best MINI 17" OEM wheels IMHO.

I completely agree, they look great and want to get them if and when I decide to get a Clubman. Just wondering if they were hard to clean, they seem to have lots of grooves where brake dust might get into.

I 100% agree. I tried to get the mini dealer to swap rims on my car from the Star Pace wheels that came with my Sport Suspension package. Didn't happen.

I did however come across the greatest wheel cleaner EVER IMO. We have a few high end auto assc. shops in South FL called the Drivers Seat. They carry a line of products called Poor Boys detail products. This is truely a spray on and hose off with a high pressure nozzle. It works like nothing else. Buy it by the gallon and thank me later. You'll no longer get bent out of shape by the Mini's brake dust. Here's a link to the stuff. http://www.poorboysworld.com/spray-rinse.htm

You can wax them with whatever before hand. I put some of that wheel wax on mine but I don't feel like it does squat. You really don't need anything with that poorboys wheel cleaner.

I really haven't noticed that wax makes a difference either.I take my wheels off twice a month to clean all the dust and road tar for the inside of the wheels. That makes a big difference because at least with the R98's it seems to build up inside and work its way out.The spokes are relatively easy to clean you just have to stay on top of it the cleaning.I'll have to try that poorboys cleaner.

I've learned with past wheel wax experiences that the waxes can't handle the heat. Your rims help dissipate brake rotor heat in a round about way and with the rim heat, the wax lasts about 10 miles. So far I have had good luck with Ivory liquid and a microfiber towel.

Depends on your definition of hard to clean, I suppose. My dad had a Jaguar XJS with wire spokes back in the late 80's. Talk about hard to clean!

I've got web spokes on my R53...they're definitely brake dust collectors, but they aren't all that hard to clean. I just use wheel cleaner, a wheel brush, and some water. Takes a little elbow grease, but it's not that bad really. Certainly not as much a PITA as keeping Royal Grey looking clean and shiny. Besides, they look amazing compared to the other 17" OEM options.

I've got them spec'd on the Clubman S I have on order, so I'm willing to continue putting up with them, if that says anything...

Our first Mini. Wife picked it as a replacement for her Tourag.

So far, very happy.

Very nice, peet! Love the DS/S combo!

Would've ordered it myself, if it wasn't so close to the Royal Grey/Silver combo on my R53.

Got in yesterday from SC. but will not take her until stage I is ready, I want the 4 years warranty on it.

I probably keep adding stuff on the show room until she is ready to go home...
