SO after all this time I finally broke down and bought one. I've owned a Cabrio since January 2005 and it's nearly 2010! I have spent years getting beamed by a constant air missle on the right side of my head... hair snapping me in the eye and plain ol' crazy wildness! (which is fun... don't get me wrong ... but SOMETIMES it's nice to just be calm) When I drove to the NC mountains last October it was 31 with the top down and my right ear was FROZEN!

Today was my first drive with the new toy. I had NO idea that this would work so well! The air pattern definitely changed and it was just light little breezes flicking up my wispies and giving my hair that "lived in" look that we spend lots of money on products for!

Anyway, I just wanted to write my review. I have no idea how it compares to the factory one because I never owned one... but it was easy to put in place and probably pretty easy to store. Can't wait to use it on my road trip THIS year.

Thanks Ev.

Wow--what a difference

I got my brownflyer windscreen yesterday, and I had to take the long way home on the freeway just to try it out. What a difference! I would highly recommend this to anyone. Pro work on the stitching--this could be a factory item! Thanks, Ev.

I also would be interested in testing/buying one of these. I love the fact that I can still have my kids in the back with this type of windscreen.

I was just thinking about posting an update on this product when BAM! there it was in my email. So I guess I'll do it now.

I have two Convertibles and I had to take one for service (the one without the wind blocker). I didn't have time to change it over from the one that it was in (not that it's difficult because it's not... I am just always running late). Anyway, I was thinking back to all the years that I drove without it and thought, "It won't be that bad... I'll just deal with it.". So an hour and a half drive on the highway and my hair was wrapping around my head and continually snapping me in the right eye! An hour and a half drive home the same way and my eye was starting to hurt. I couldn't clip my hair back enough times to stop it and I ALMOST put the top up! But I'm strong so... ... instead of running my errands on the way back... I came home and traded cars and it was like "Ahhhhhhhhh"... calm. It's cool to be able to have a side by side comparison sometimes because it's easy to forget. And not that the Cabrio is unbearable... because it's not... but now I am spoiled. It's almost like trading out the run-flats to non run-flats... yeah, there's a big difference. Hope this helps.

I'm debating between buying one and getting a mohawk haircut.

Hmmm...

Hey everyone, yes I'm still around and enjoying my Mini. Don't post too much as I have been busy with another awesome business that I'm expanding but do still make the windscreens. Spring is coming, or at least I hope so it's been raining so much here lately and has been very cold as well, and it's going to be a great time for top down motoring.

There are different size headrests. You have to know which one you have to make sure it fits properly.

I ordered one of these a month or so back and got it in. Brownflyer's customer service is excellent. He kept me in the loop the whole way.

Installed it and it works like a champ. much better than the stock windscreen, and I can put the carseat in the back. Wife was quite happy with it as well. I highly recommend it.

I have a used (but in great condition) all black Brownflyer windscreen for sale - $130 shipped in the US. Also included is a denim bag specially made to hold the windscreen while not in use. It's a great deal and it really is better than the OEM screen. I've had both and there is no contest... the BF windscreen is the winner! Please send me a PM if interested.

#EDIT:SOLD!

I Love my new windscreen!!!

I've had my 2005 Cabrio S for for four years now. My wife just bought me a windscreen. The effect is nothing short of amazing. I installed it and went for a drive- silence!

I returned home to get my wife. Even before we hit the highway she commented on how much quieter the ride was. On the highway we could carry on conversations at normal levels, no shouting! She could not believe the difference. The ride inside was so quiet that, without thinking, she started to pass a shopping bag over the windscreen to the back seat at 65 mph... And almost lost it on the interstate!

My favorite part was passing a 'vette with it's top down, their hair blowing like crazy. We looked like we had just a gentle breeze...

I had no idea that a windscreen would make driving topdown greater than it already was. Great product! Thanks so much!

Got my windscreen!

Ok, first post. After picking up a 2007 Cabrio, and reading everything I could about the cars, I decided I needed to have the windscreen. I didn't want to give up the backseat with the factory one, so ordered this one.

As others have said..super easy to install, just as easy to remove, or un-zip to let a passenger in the back seat. It looks great! Fit and finish are top notch, with a simple design that is so efficient.

Does it work? It works fantastic! Pretty much stops all air flow between the seats, that whips the side of your head at high speeds. Want more air flow? Simply un-zip one side and let it hang. Great design.

Thanks Ev!

Terry
