Stuck top-anyone else?

My wife's MCC top will open to the "landau" position, but then it stops. The motor for the top is still running, but it won't budge until we push it up a bit. Then it lowers as normal. Anyone else have this? Any ideas on how I can fix it, besides a trip to the dealer?

Thanks!

sounds like the latch isn't releasing.

I had this exact same problem on a Z4 and all the dealer did to fix it was grease the points where the top locks into the body so that it would slide out more easily. It did the trick - never had a problem with it after that.

Thanks guys! I will try greasing the latch area. It can't hurt and beats an hour drive to the dealer.

Now of course if it does work, I aint gonna tell the wife how easy it was to fix!
