2006 Nelson Ledges MINI Rally
Just received in the mail today
my notice and invite to the rally
SUNDAY JULY 23 FROM 11:00 TO 6:00 PM
AT NELSON LEDGES NATIONAL PARK AND RACE TRACK
10342 STATE ROUTE 305 GARRETTSVILLE OHIO 44231
IT WILL HOPEFULLY BE A BEAUTIFUL SUMMER DAY
HOW MANY OF MY CABRIO BROTHERS AND SISTERS PLAN ON ATTENDING THE EVENT??

Actually i am not really all that sure what it is.....sorry to say 
The mailer i received said this was the 4th time, this will be my first time going.
i am sure it is just an excuse to get Mini owners to gather in one location.
for Mini stuff, games,giveaways, and a chance to race on the track..
I would have to say to get fulll details i would advise contacting the MINI dealership in MENTOR, OHIO.
Oh and it was not just for cabrio owners, that was just my twist on the event because i have the cabrio. My guess is they sent the mailer out to people who purchased from their dealership

just a follow up, just received my invitation about a week ago. RSVP'd within 1 minute of reading it, should be bringing me and the lady. she seems to like the auto-x well see how she like zipping around the track!!
just a note for all you that havent been to nelson yet. bring an extra pair of shoes if you are going to be racing. it "can" be a muddy track if it has rained. it isnt like mid ohio, etc.
also it is a fast and rough track, so make sure your fillings are secured !
see everyone there! my car is in my sig, so if you see me make sure you say hello i wont bite.

Uhhhh. An extra pair of shoes might be an understatement. Bring some handi-wipes as well. The "facilities" are still pretty primative (or at least they were last year). I did hear that they've been doing a lot of work to the track and facilities over the past few years.

With all that negative talk about the track makes me not want to risk driving on it... and speaking of that has anyone heard back from Classic ... When i called and said i would like to race , they said we will call you back in a "few" days to let me know what time i would be racing ....Here we are over a month later and no call....
Nelson is a very nice track to run on. Lots of fun!!! No the facilities aren't as nice as Mid-Ohio, but who cares? Well not me. It's the track you drive on not the facilities. Now saying you need to have your fillings secure is a bit of a stretch.
It isn't that rough. If you come, you will have fun. A free day at the track, doesn't get better than that. Thanks Classic.

You DO realize you are posting in a year old thread, right, Sid? However, there IS a gathering at Nelson this weekend, on Aug. 5.
It's a fast track, bumpy as hell, patched all over, and has some strange restrooms to say the least. But, it's fun, if you don't take the varying conditions or yourself too seriously. NO SHADE, so bring a tent or an umbrella. Dirt/gravel roads to the paddock area, and the same in and around it.
