Speaker Hunt: #7 and #8

The manual says the H/K sound system has 8 speakers. I can only find 6: 2 tweeters in the top of the doors, 2 woofers at the bottom, and 2 woofers in the back. Where are speakers 7 and 8 ??

In my Infiniti the last 2 speakers (#'s 10 & 11) were subwoofers hidden inside the spare tire compartment. No such luck here. All I found was a battery.

Signed...
8 would be gr8. [It's not enough, but it's a start.]

speaker set up

There are 8 drivers and 10 channels, as follows:
front upper speakers are a midrange/tweeter coaxial
front lower speakers are a mid/bass
rear speakers are a dual voice coil mid/bass

only the rear speaker is of "normal" size, being a 6"x9". The front mid/tweet coax is quite esoteric, and the front mid/bass is a 5 1/4" with a built-in adapter, making direct replacement tough.

The above is from a previous post. I was wondering the same thing

So wait... each rear speaker counts as two speakers?

I think that they are calling the rears "two" b/c of the voice coils. Last time I checked, that doesn't necessarily make it a "double speaker". I thought that you had to have a second cone to make it that. Who knows..... next they'll be telling us _____________ (fill in the blank with our favorite line)

Rear speakers

Just wanted to also point out that on the Convertible, the rear speaker isn't a 6x9, it's a 6 1/2. I researched it before pulling off the panel, but can tell you that it indeed is a 6.5 inch.

Show me yours first...

Yeah, [thatatvguy],me too. I thought it had to have a separate cone. So if I go buy a replacement speaker, are they gonna charge me for two?!?

So, shiftyjw, did you actually pull the cover off? If so, what did you see? One normal looking speaker? A funky speaker? I'm afraid to pull mine off. Anytime I fool with anything, I break it. The MINI is tough on the outside, but the inside plastic is kinda cheap.
