I installed the OEM rear view camera on my convertible, and it is a very significant enhancement. At some point on almost every trip, I will eithier back out of the garage, or out of a spot in a parking lot, or parallel park, and the camera is used every time. There is a thread specifically about installation on the convertible.: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=53297
However, the Park Distance Control is already some help for backing up. Even before thinking about a rear view camera, you should address the right-side blind spots, which can make lane changes high anxiety in the convertible. It helps to stick one of those convex spots on the passenger side mirror, but much better to use a full size wide view mirror. I use a Multivex mirror, and it has eliminated my blind spot issues. Don't sweat it about the programmable options. There are really very few options available. Decide how you want it on delivery, and they are easily changed if you change your mind later. See my post #23 in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=63962
I think that body colored dash works great for the convertible, in all colors. It blurs the distinction between interior and exterior of the car, which is part of what makes a convertible what it is.
Don't forget to get a wind deflector.
