Refurbished oe radio install no aux

Hello,

I decided to install a oe refurbished head unit. It is not the boost head unit. It is the radio in the photo attached.

The mini has a HK amp, I put in a used one in. I had a alpine head unit but it drained the battery flat. So I was troubleshooting and broke the orginal radio and then bought a refurb radio. I have the iPod and aux installed in the car. Since new in the car In the refurbished one head unit i hit mode, there is no aux or iPod. Only cd and radio.

I am wondering does the oe radio need to be programmed so it knows that the car has iPod and aux capability? How much would it be at a dealership?

I did not touch anything behind the big square connector when i was troubleshooting and installing the Alpine radio and the oe radio.

I’ve never heard of anyone programming a radio, but I’m really not familiar with the non-boost units (or even the early boost ones, for that matter).

I do know that later heads had the aux, amd early ones didn’t. You may simply have a head that isn’t compatible. Not familiar with that model jsut the normal ones so sorry I can’t be of more help than that.
