For quite a while my 2005 Cooper S Cabrio has had a bad rattle from the rear bumper area. Finally took the bumper cover off and found the "guide rail" (#10 in this pic) detached and sitting loose on the bumper bar. Not clear to me what the guide rail does and if it's really necessary? Don't want it to come loose again. Thinking about leaving it out.
