2007 Mini R52 Convertible bumper

Hi to all my new friends! Just bought an 07 convertible. I had no idea how awesome minis were. I test drove one and fell in love immediately! Anyway. I have the non-sport version with the single exhaust cutout on the right for the tail pipe. I want to upgrade to the dual pipes in the center. Does anyone know which bumper if any is a direct fit. I'm thinking the R53 S but am not sure. Thanks!

Welcome! For a direct fit you'll need a bumper from an '05 - '08 cabrio as they have slots in the bumper for the hinges. An R53 will possibly work if you cut the slots in the bumper.

If you go with a factory exhaust it'll also need to be for a cabrio as they have extra bracing under the car. The later JCW exhausts will fit an R52 S or R53 as they were changed when the cabrios came out. Not sure if the stock S exhaust was changed, or if it already fit both without changing.

Great Advice

Thanks RB-MINI! That helps a lot and certainly saved me a bunch of research time.

You're welcome. Check with ECS Tuning as he knows a lot about the early cabrio's. He should be able to tell you if just cutting an R53 bumper will work, or if there are extra brackets or mounting tabs in that area, and which exhausts should work for your conversion.

Im also really enjoying my "new to me" first gen "Justa" convertible

You can probably figure out the correct OEM part numbers you will need for this project if you feed the last 7 digits of the VIN in here and then try the other engine (W11) option

Is it possible that its only the "spoiler" under the bumper that is "S" or Justa specific? Its not clear to me if these are interchangeable with the justa bumper or if the whole bumper needs to be swapped as well to accommodate the center pipe.

"Justa"

"S"

It seems a lot of hassle either way, for what it might end up costing Id rather swap out the exhaust header if the end result is anything like the HP boost claimed for a 2nd gen mini in a recent thread here
