R52 replacing roof

replacing roof
hey all... been forever since i popped on here :(
so i have an 06 and an 08. o6 is dead :( and the 08's roof at the back window seem is coming apart with some small holes in it. would really like to just swap the roofs. anyone done this? can the mechanisms just be picked up and changed or do i need to remove the canvas from the mechanisms? been searching for instructions but getting nowhere.
