I will be ordering a 2005 MCS with the limited slip diff, Dark Silver with checkerboards stripes, roof, and mirrors. I have already spoken to Devon about it at MINI of STL.

That would be great Aaron. Let me know if it works out. You'd think current owners might get some kind of preference. I'm still looking in to other dealers. Memphis would be a nice short roadtrip. Or even Chicago, Indy or KC. The guy at MINI of St Louis told me the reason they marked it up was because they are the only dealer in Missouri When I told him I was going to look elsewhere he asked me who would service my MINI. I think he thought he was dealing with a dummy. When I told him MINI of St Louis would all I got was silence. I really dislike dealing with car dealers

I'm getting closer to finding my Cabrio-Jacobs MINI in Chicago wants $2500 deposit but is not asking over MSRP. However Roadshow MINI in Memphis wants $1000 deposit & not asking over MSRP. Both can have me in a MC Cabrio by October It's looking like a roadtrip to Memphis is in the future. BTW,Baron MINI in KC wanted $2000 over MSRP for the MC & $3000 for the MCS Now I have to decide what color:smile: Perhaps LY/B & her name will be "Sunnie" And no, I'm not getting rid of Louie. Sunnie will be his baby sister

So much for not being like those other dealers! Wow. Seems like greed as taken over along with a new sales manager.

I was added to a wait list at MINI of Nashville back in Feb. for the Cabrio and they gave me in writing they would sell their 4th allocation slot for MSRP. It took a $1000 deposit. I later couldn't wait and transfered my deposit to a MCS I have been driving for over 2 months now, since I couldn't wait. But from St. Louis I would definitely try Nashville. I saw the BRG cabrio last weekend it is great!!

Baron is where I got my car from. Talk to Lisa and tell her you know Hafid in Scottsdale

Baron is asking $2000 over MSRP for the MC Cabrio & $3000 over for the MCS Cabrio. I can't see going to dealers that are doing this when there are dealers not uping the price. My Cabrio will come from Roadshow in Memphis & I live in St. Louis. It will cost me about $40 in gas to drive to Memphis. Plus a little jazz, barbeque & the ducks at the Peabody will be on the agenda.

Dealers charging OVER MSRP for ORDERING a car should be dragged through the streets to be stoned and spat upon.

I can understand the extra if the car is sitting on the lot where they have a financial risk involved. The extra for just taking your order is nothing short of robbery.

Be patient, call around and pay a legitimate price, take a trip and drive it back. That is what I did, and it was a great experience. my .02
