What is this code?

I have been having odd acceleration for quite some time. It feels like turbo lag when the engine finally kicks in. I have a supercharged engine so it's not turbo lag. Any way, the CEL keeps coming on and going off after three starts. I can actually get the light to turn on when coming down a shallow hill in 6th with no throttle. Took it in to the dealer and the paper says:

001237 DME: Pressure sensor, intake manifold before compressor- input low

The dealer had no offhand idea for what may cause this and I have an appointment scheduled. Obviously I'd like to avoid that and the accompanying cost. Any thoughts on what could cause this code to be thrown? I was hoping it would be something as simple as the MAP or TMAP sensor being bad but I don't want to start replacing parts without direction.

Thanks!

I also noticed the light only comes on when the temperature is about 40° or less. Any ideas?

Thanks Brick. Do you know if the specifically means the sensor is bad or if it means something is wrong and the sensor is reading it? For $68 I might just try replacing the sensor and see what happens.

Some have attributed that code with others to a vacuum leak , but that was for both codes. Check the intake hose connections first and anything visual then you can narrow it down.

For the Gen 1 Cooper S / JCW.

Here is the TMAP sensor near : (manifold) map is near the manifold

I have pulled both the MAP and TMAP to see if they had any obvious damage. The one on the front of the engine had a lot of oil on it. I cleaned it but it didn't make any difference. Will continue with leak checks.
