R52 Tube Behind Rear Bumper
Tube Behind Rear Bumper
I have a 2008 convertible and several weeks I had a flat tire. AAA came out and mounted the spare tire (from under the car) for me to get to the tire store. The spare was placed back under the car after the flat was repaired/remounted.
Yesterday I noticed a narrow tube about 1.5 inches long hanging down behind the rear bumper. It has threads on the end like a tire stem. I checked under the car near the spare tire area, but I didn't see any obvious place to connect the tube. I pushed it up so it is now resting on the inside of the bumper. Does anyone know what this is and where it connects?
Many thanks in advance.
PS I will post a picture of it later today.

Sounds like they did not connect the access tube to the spare tire valve. It makes it so you can add or check the pressure without dropping the spare tire from your Cooper Convertible. Cooper model have the spare and Cooper S do not have the installed spare.

Valve is #10 and connects to the spare tire valve stem and then the bottom trim which give you the access. #2 is the spare wheel rim.
