I recently bought a 2006 R52 (cooper s convertible). It's a great car - love it..

However, recently the gears "scrape" when changing from 5th gear to 6th gear. this doesn't occur in any other gear change. I was wondering if anyone experienced a similar problem and what they might have done about it?

 

Transmission work, at least for the Aisin 6 speed, seems to be a black art. I've talked to bunches of folks hoping for information and direction. The only thing I've come away with is I need deeper pockets to own a mini.
