Help! Time for a new clutch.

Hello!

I've been poking around the forum, looking for an answer to my overly specific questions, so I thought I'd just jump in and ask directly.

I have an 05 R52 Non-S and I am around 101,000 miles. I've begun to notice hesitation when trying to accelerate in any gear, and I figure it's time to replace the clutch. I am lucky enough to have my mechanically inclined father visiting soon, and he's offered to help me (I am pretty much a novice but love to try my hand at DIY with my Mini). I've discovered a few how to's on clutch/flywheel replacement, and I have a Bentley Service manual.

My questions are:

1. Anyone have any recommendations on what brand/type of clutch to get? I'm sticking with street driving. Are kits the way to go?

2. What about the flywheel? For the miles on the car, do you think it's worth trying to resurface it - or should I just go ahead and put a new one in?

3. Having access to a proper vehicle lift and air tools - how long should the job take?

Any help from the mini experienced will be greatly appreciated by myself and Miss Cool Blue Saphira!
