Trying to pinpoint an occasional noise...
This happens after I've been driving for at least 20 minutes, it's not always present though.
There is a noise that comes from the front of the car (sounds loudest within the car, not with the bonnet up). Sort of a grinding, spinning noise - it is independent of the engine or car rpm (will not change if the car is rolling, stopped or idling in park).
I've had the power steering pump replaced a few years ago - when that went it was sudden, no noise and never came back...but I was thinking it might be that again...?
Any thoughts? I'm out of warranty, just had the 60K miles stuff done about 5K ago and I'm currently at 70K. Auto transmission, Cooper Cabrio, 2005.
Thank in advance for any advice!
