R52 Front Bumper Underpanel
Front Bumper Underpanel
My husband owns a 2008 Cooper S Convertible. There is a panel under the front bumper that keeps scraping and catching on cement parking stoppers. When he backs out of a parking space, the underpanel often catches and pulls off, causing damage. It sometimes even catches when he backs out of our driveway unless he is going VERY slow. This problem is driving him crazy! He has already replaced the panel once. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a fix or a replacement part that doesn't set so low?
Unfortunately, that is something you will have to watch out for when owning a MINI! I always have to try and remember not to pull up so close on a curb or parking stop because, as you know, the car sits quite low. If he backs out of the driveway at the angle, it may help prevent it from scraping. MINI does not make a replacement different that is a different style to prevent this but I have experienced it many times! It is just something to watch out for.
