Spare tire storage issue

Hi all,
Just got my new '05 convertible S and of course love it. I wanted a softer ride and less expensive tires since I live on a gravel road and go through tires fast, so I had the run-flats and 17" wheels changed out to 16" regulars. I actually think the car looks better also. Dealer told me S models all came with run-flats so there was no accomoadtion for a spare tire storage. We stuck it in the "trunk" with the rear seats down, so it is half in the trunk and half on a rear seat. Only way to do it to keep the shelf needed in place to put the top down. Don't like it and don't like how it looks, but dealership said no other option except to not carry it around and get AAA for flat service. I'm a do it yourself kind of girl and don't want to wait around on AAA if I get a flat. Anyone have any other spare tire storage options for me?

I'm also looking to purchase a jack for the car since it didn't come with that either and also a console support cup holder since dealer prices were outrageous on them if anyone has a spare of either those 2 items sitting around.
thanks
Suzy

I don't have a convertible, but I do carry a donut spare and it fits perfectly in an upright position behind the front passenger seat.

My 05 S hardtop came with a jack...runflats too.
Some mini retailers sell a doughnut spare cheaper than mini...try detroit tuned or waymotorworks....either one may have a jack too from a car they salvage/partout.
I do what many do....carry a 12v pump, plug kit, and can of fix a flat..
then AAA....On a longer trip, I might carry one of my winter rims/tires as a spare....not ideal, but works.

My 2006 S convertible (run flats) came with a jack. Just purchased off ebay a used donut spare which came with the jack and lugnut wrench for 120 bucks-delivered.
Read somewhere a Honda civic donut will also fit but it depends on the year and tire size and if you go that route it's much, much cheaper.

Check out the DIY section. Don't remember if I saw it in the first or second generation section, but, someone did a write-up on how to install a spare tire on an S. You would have to do some fabrication, but I think it would interest you.
