i have a 2007 supercharged convertible and need to replace the front left strut. my mechanic says when replacing struts, it's recommended to do both at the same time (i guess like tires).

i found a pair of struts that are for an r56. is this the same part for my vehicle and will it work?

I'm not sure how the cabrio differs from the coupe but when I installed a pair if R56 shocks and springs on my 03 Cooper, it raised the ride height a good amount. You will need to reuse your top strut mounts as the R56 ones don't fit an R50/R53.
