R52 2005 Convertible problem
2005 Convertible problem
I would like to know who else has the broken cable problem with their convertible. I have found a number of complaints on line with the complaint that the cable breaks and is a crazy amt. of money for repair. Mine has 40,000 mi. and this may be a trend with tops that may need to be addressed with the company. Any thoughts?
There is a poll here --> https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...sues-poll.html
That might give you some info you are looking for. My broken cable issue is listed there also.

2005 Broken Convertible Top
Having the same broken top issues as described by others. Car has 11,000 miles, 18 months out of warranty. Sterling BMW/MINI shows no mercy. Repair bill is $1500.00. Am writing a letter to BMW NA president. Ridiculous that BMW has not addressed this. Figured that the cost to raise and lower my roof is about $5.00 per cycle, based on this repair number and the miles on the car. Nice.
