How do I clear the worn Brake Pad light on my 2008 MCSC

I have just replaced the pads on my 2008 MCSC and I need to know how to get the light to go off. Does anyone know?

If the brake wear indicator light came on, that means that the brake wear sensor wore through and should have been replaced when you replaced the pads. You can't reset the warning light until the wear sensor has been replaced.

In the future, if you replace the pads before the sensor actually wears though, you can continue to use the same sensor forever.

once there is a good sensor in place

turn the key to position #2 - ON

but don't start the car, let it sit for 30 seconds and the light should clear.
(found this lil tidbit buried in the MiniMania part description)

if you don't want to replace the sensor you can trick the system. The sensor works by breaking a wire. The sensor sits in the pad slot and when the pad gets thin enuf the sensor hits the rotor. Eventually the sensor wears down until a wire in the sensor breaks. This open circuit triggers the light. You must close this circuit to clear the lite. You replace the sensor - or you can disect the old sensor, find the wire ends and splice it together. Then just zip-tie the sensor out of the way. Just remember you no longer have a sensor on that axle.

You can NOT simply remove the sensor as that leaves the open circuit.

note there are two sensors - left front and right rear, on the inner pad only.
