On my 2005 MCS Cabrio, the sunroof protion opens fine but will not retract the entire top. After the sunroof stage, the top will move back less than an inch, the passenger side will unlatch but the driver's side will not unlatch. Nothing else happens except the button flashes. Can a broken cable cause this? I have seen plenty of postings here where if it is a broken cable, the sunroof portion will pull back only from one side. I have insured the micro switch is depressed by the tray in the bonnet and that both latches are closed as well. What else can it be? I have also heard that it could be the "cassette" - what is that? Has anyone experienced this? Sunroof portion working but nothing else does?

How about someone specializing in "Vert Tops" in the local area...Your mechanic or auto body specialist...probably has friends (Vendors) that they can recommend.

 

I tried a handful of those that are reputable but have not found one taker. They are scared of touching these tops. Every one of the shops I went to - I went to five of them - said they are nightmares to work on and figure out but only one of them has actually worked on them. It is as if the word is all over.
