Any Cool Blue cabrios with black wheels?

I'm considering some lighter wheels for the track this season, probably Enkei RPF1's... and am torn between silver and black... I've done a complete exterior black-out of my car, aero front bumper and grilles, still have black trim... so the only exterior silver are my wheels... but I'm just wondering if going to black wheel is going to be "jumping the shark"....

Anyone have black wheels on their cool blue cab? Pics would be AWESOME.

Paul, I was looking at the same wheels for my 2008 S cabrio. I think the black wheels make the car look heavier and the proportions are somehow not correct (IMO). Here is the TireRack picts of the wheels on the car:

Yeah, I did the tire rack simulator... problem is that (1) the color of the car isn't even close to real cool blue (blame BMW... same problem in the MINI configurator... you can't simulate massive quantities of three different colors of pearl powder in a single hue on a monitor).. and (2) the proportions of the wheels are all wrong - not at all what 17" would look like with 215/45R17 would look like.... especially when lowered a bit.

And I'm blacked out... which makes it look pretty different, also... I just need to borrow a couple of wheels off somebody's car for a few minutes and pop them on mine to look at it... preferably with their consent... but whatever it takes...

given the other things you've done, i'd go black. i went silver for my new track wheels (o.z. ultralegerra) because i enjoy the classic chrome look of the grille, headlight rings, etc. that said, i did consider blacking things out for a while before i came to this conclusion . i also have my oem nightspoke wheels to feed the need for blackness.

too bad they dont make union jack colored wheels

One thing about black, should hide the huge amount of dust generated from track use ... well, unless you've got much better than OEM pads on there
