R52 Improvements to CVT in 2008?
Improvements to CVT in 2008?
I am very interested in a Mini at my local dealership. I only recently found out about the sidewalk package, but at this point, it is to late to order one. The car they have at my local dealer is very close to a sidewalk. It's BRG with tan interior and is completely loaded (inluding the chrono pack, which is a major factor for me). It also has a CVT trans, which I've heard HORROR stories about.
I would much perfer the manual trans, however, this seems to be the only on in literaly the country that meets the specs I am looking for. Right color, right interior, right options.
I have seen a couple nuggets about imporvements to the CVT over the years, but nothing in depth. Can anyone fill me in?

Just FYI, Baron in KC has a Sidewalk in their showroom........Astro black with grey and light grey piping - very good looking! And it's a manual, and a "Works" too!....
Here's a link to it if you want to just look.........http://www.baronmini.com/VehicleDetails/1111698384

Wow that is a pile of money for that Sidewalk edition.
Lack of a chrono pack sure wouldn't keep me from buying a MINI, but it having a CVT sure would. So would a $39K+ price tag.
Keep searching you'll find your MINI.
