Steering wheel functions

I have a 05 conver. mini. It came with what I guess is a multifunction steering wheel. I am not sure how to use all the functions, any place I can look to see how to use these.

Thanks,
bb100

Visit the MINI USA site. Look in the bottom right corner for Owners Lounge. Sign up, you will need your VIN. In there you can download or view online the Owners Manual.

Welcome to NAM and enjoy the new to you MINI

Right side: Cruise control
Accelerate (+)
Resume On/Off
Coast (-)

After turning on, press either + or - to set speed.
Pressing On/Off once "cancels" currently set cruise. Pressing again turns system off.

Left side:

Stereo volume and track/preset up/down

Other two left side buttons do nothing unless you have the factory bluetooth phone option (most people don't) or an aftermarket bluetooth kit that integrates with them.

Couple of functions that are missed:

Turning the wheel to the left will make the car go left.
Turning the wheel to the right will make it go right.

Here's a manual for you. It's for an 06, but I believe your 05 is the same in every way.

plus...
Crashing hard into something will send a big bag of gas flying into your face.
Pressing to the side of the airbag will honk the horn.
Pressing in the middle of the airbag while intending to honk the horn will bend the little MINI logo, leaving a pointy wing to snag your sweaters.

Do I dare ask how your sweater gets so close to the steering wheel?

If you go to our downloads page, you can find the owners manuals at the bottom of the page.

I did that to my airbag button, someone cut me off and i slammed the horn buttom bending the little mini wings. The really are very sharp, after a trip to the dealer, they needed to replace the airbag and the horn button (warranty). I have since learned to use the side of the button to honk the horn.

When we bought our use '05 MCSc, the logo on the airbag had one wing poking up ... previous owner had clearly pounded on the horn more than once and bent the logo. We also got the dealer to replace it (entire airbag) under warranty, though it came with a lecture about how to properly honk the horn and was noted that this was a one-time courtesy repair.

Anyway, for those who don't yet know it, don't pound on your airbag when going for the horn!

I have gotten the "one time courtesy repair" line from my dealer on everything from axles to clutches and convertible tops to broken headlights. What is this crap? I am under warranty. Fix the damn problem and stop acting like you are doing me a favor.
