Rear seats - what can/can't you do?

What can/have you put in the rear seats? Can 2 adults sit in the rear seats comfortably? uncomfortably? not at all? Thanks!

2 NOS bottles and a blanket to cover them.

Yes two adults can sit back there. It mostly depends how greedy the front seaters are with how far they put their seats back.

Confortability is all your opinion. I think it's fine, while some may think its not

It is too windy with the top down, too claustrophobic with the top up. Because of that, I use the rare seat only on an urgently if-needed basis.

One 9 year-old with mom in the front seat, or one mom if 9 year-old is in the front seat. Seat behind driver is much more confining. Wouldn't want four passengers for more then 30 minutes or so. Back can also be very windy with top down (even with an aftermarket windscreen installed).

I have taken a full compliment of 3 adults plus me, the plus sized pilot, for short trips around town. I would not advise a long road trip in that configuration. It is hard for me to shift with the shifter behind my elbow.

I agree with Homerwest, it is not very comfortable for the driver to have the shifter behind the elbow.
Therefore NO ONE sits behind the driver unless its an emergency, so typically I only have passengers on
the right side of the MINI and thats been fine for everyone I have taken so far.

Avg sized family I guess, we've done it for trips about 1 - 2 hrs long. Me (5'11"), grandma as copilot (around 5'5" I guess), wife behind grandma (5'8") and stepdaughter behind me (around 5'7"). It's tight, and trips over 2hrs would not be very pleasant, but for shorter trips it's ok.

Surprisingly, this car is actually roomier than an older acura integra 2dr I had and about as roomy as a Yaris. Not as easy to get in and out though, I really wish they could make the rails at least 1" longer in the front to be able to slide the front chair forward more.

You can fit a dog in the backseat comfortably!

No, really, but you can fit 3 adults (one adult behind the front passenger)

I consider my MINI a two-seater. No one gets to ride in the back. I use the rear seating area to stow MY stuff, not their B I G behinds. It's bad enough that I have to tell each person riding shotgun to watch their feet on my pristine passenger door panel, when getting in or out.

Rear passengers are nothing but trouble, starting with they mark up the rear compartment with their dirty, filthy shoes.

As far as I am concerned they can take a cab, walk, or just stay home.

The rear seat is good for full sized adults for a couple of hours. Oh, but if you ride back there, you're my *****.
