North Hollywood MINI feedback?

My 2006 JCW MCS Convertible is due for it's first service and the closest dealership to my office is Mini of Universal City in North Hollywood California

Has anyone on the forum had experience with them, and if so, I'd like to hear about your experience so I can decide if I should take my car there.

Mel

lots of mixed reviews for Universal MINI. some have had great, some have had horrible.

I personally have never had a bad experience there.
also, theyve never given me a loaner car :(

...wow, hate to hear that some have had bad service... it makes me reluctant to go there...

In your opinion who is offering the best service in LA?

IMO, of the local dealerships, South Bay offers the best service. Assael is the worst, which is too bad because it's the closest to me. I have no complaints about Universal City. A friend of mine swore by them - he wouldn't take his Mini anywhere else. I've also used Crevier because they are both Mini and Dinan under one roof. They were OK, not great.

If it's routine maintenance or non-warranty work, Danny at Mini Corsa in Van Nuys is the best of all of them. If Universal City is closest to you (are you in the Valley?), that may work.

The only dealership that will give me a loaner is South Bay because that's where I bought mine.

Yeah, my office is about two miles from Universal Mini so that would be the most convenient for me... I'm just trying to figure out if they offer good customer service.

Thanks for your input;

Universal City Mini was the worst dealer experience I have ever had (regardless of brand). After my motor failed (from a problem that I reported and they couldn't seem to find) they tried to leave me holding the bag on the repairs. They refused to even attempt any further diagnosis without me coming up with $4k cash (on a car that was 6 months old and under warranty!).

I happily paid money out of my own pocket to have it towed to Nick Alexander, and they found the problem to be due to a defective cylinder head.

Funny because Universal City Mini tried to find every possible reason to say it was my fault.

I live in Toluca Lake. Universal City Mini is very close to me. I would rather pull out my fingernails with pliers than ever entrust my baby there again.

I'm shocked at the treatment you recieved on an essentially brand new car. Glad to hear that you got it fixed under warranty. Thanks for replying to my post.
