I am not sure how to post pics on here, I will work on figuring that out. I cannot believe how much I love this car though. I am very much a rookie to Mini Ownership. The car is the Sparkling Silver color with brown leather interior. It is the Supercharged version. I know very little about Minis and even less about the Sidewalk Edition. I will get some pics up so that maybe I can learn a little more about it. My original intention was to fix and sell this car, but its so fun to drive that I can't bear to let it go.

For pics you can attach them with the Attach files with the manage attachments icon or paperclip icon , or if they are hosted on a site or flicker you can link them with the picture icon which is on the task bar above the section to post , then copy and paste the link. It is very relaxing to massage in the leatherique oil for the seats after warming up the leather to working temperature

I would say that after looking at several new iterations of the leather interior the malt brwon leather color and texture happens to be one of the very best.

Funny story: I was looking everywhere for a PW Sidewalk, and when one turned up near my mom's home in Arlington, TX, I asked her to go take a look at it for me. She loved it so much that she bought it for herself! Fortunately, there was another one available closer to me, so now we have matching cars!!

Lusted after a Sidewalk since they came out. Also been kicking myself for selling my '05 MCSCa in '10.

Anyway, I am going to look at an '08 Astro Black sidewalk tomorrow. It's also got a JCW package on it.

Sorry that I haven't read the whole thread (probably will if I can't sleep tonight) but can someone point me to a good resource as to what came with the package (and maybe the JCW package) in 2008.

The only bummer with this particular one is that it doesn't appear to have heated seats.

Anything I should look out for?

should have a cert signed by Mike Cooper. #Stamp on valve cover and JCW brand on valve cover. JCW exhaust. JCW heads. JCW intake. JCW SC. Some have a JCW suspension. JCW front caliper. Some have aero f/r bumpers with side skirts, some do not. An '08 its borderline if its a 'factory JCW' or not but you can tell by running the VIN# ( http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html ) - it really not a difference but after '08 I beleive its a stage II JCW kit (bigger injectors and 211 bhp) ANYONE CAN CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG God forbid

Somehow I didn't get notifications until yesterday that this thread was getting posts. Welcome to the new members

Stella will be 5 at the end of the month. Currently she has 67,500+ miles. She's been on a fair number of road trips and is also my wife's daily driver (weather permitting). She had a lot of snow days this winter here in Minnesota!

We can't wait for top down motoring season to start up here

On the JCW tuning kit number which was in addition most times with the Cooper S, sometimes add to the sidewalk editions to really +1 the features to the normal sidewalk editions..

It would have came with paperwork for the tuning kit and the badge which was on the valve cover with the number of the tuning kit. If you dont have the silver plate JCW/ JCW number badge/ JCW exhaust / and JCW intake, you most likely did not have the Tuning kit, also look for the JCW emblem on the rear and on the lower grille. Or the part were bought a la carte.

Look at the engine. JCW Tuning kit plate with number. Top left in pics. Silver JCW inter-cooler cover ( center ) and JCW intake with badge on the right. On the plate you will see you number .



Also comes with the document , if you can find it.

I'm super excited. Alas, it still has the door scuttles but not the grille badge. I need to clean her up a bit and look her over better; I'll get some pictures when I can get a good shine on her.

 

On the door sill it should say the number # of 100 and have the little bulldog symbol. Looks like they all came in that one color with the black English leather seats with touches of Malt brown on the stitching and steering wheel.

Did you figure that out from the date?

I do have the sill plate but couldn't read the lettering in the symbol - go next month to get my bifocals strengthened

ETA: having the bulldog symbol is funny - I have an English Bulldog I got between the MINIs that was named before we got him - named Cooper.

BTW: I guess I need a new signature block since the BRG is gone - now Astro Black.
