Did you tell the dealership what you did to help them pinpoint the issue?

No problem being frustrated! I understand that. Hope things get squared ASAP!

I just recieved my mini from the dealership at 11:30 pm tonight. she is running great! They said they reprogrammed the computer and she cranked right up. somehow the ecu got unprogrammed. Any way I got it back. They also replaced the trim around the soft top, it was starting to crack. Finally problem resolved!!

now this is my question, will the dealer frown upon the new intake and say this voids your warranty, because i am very close to getting my new clubman s and would like to make the car just a little more responsive and would be willing to commit a couple thousand to do so, but not at the risk of my dealer telling me to go fly a kite.

Not sure Alta offers an intake for the 2d gen MINI -- if they do, it's a completely different animal than that being discussed here

there isn't one.
Depends dealer to dealer. the general rule is that a warranty will not cover damage caused by a mod . . . so putting in new suspension springs to lower the car doesn't void the warranty on your turbo -- but doing an aftermarket tune on it would

Edit - one simple option is to ask your SA about specific mods. I've done that when considering mods: "Hey, what's your policy on warranty claims on a MINI with reduction supercharger pulley?"
this will be a lot more accurate than a general response from what others have been told or what they've heard. When you go to your dealer for warranty work they're not going to care that someone on NAM had told you it wouldn't void your warranty
That's my 2 cents -- there's a lot of good info on this site, but when it comes to finding out whether my dealer will honor my warranty, I'd rather hear it from the horses mouth
