personalized license plates

I have a friend that has ordered a 2007 Cabrio and is looking to get a personalized license plate from MO. Who has some neat ones that have made it through the state license process and is allowable?

Thanks,

Motor On!

I don't know what the process is in MO, but in MD, you just fill out a form and send the MVA $25. You can e-mail them with up to 4 choices per email and they will tell you if they are available. As long as the plate isn't already taken and isn't obviously likely to be generally offensive, you will get it. I even saw a plate that was "FCKNUT" So, either I am just dirty-minded or it isn't too hard to get around the "offensive" thing.

I'm sure "TOPLESS" or "TOPOFF" have been taken....how about "HFBKINI" ? (limit is 7 letters in MD).

Yeah, MD and NJ have that, too. But in NJ, the only "proof" of insurance you need is writing a company and policy number on the registration card.

I used to have Maryland plates that said "3M 3TI8". The DMV wouldn't let me get it in DC. You can go onto a website and reserve your plates. It will tell you if it has been "pre-approved" then it will take your $75 registration fee.

Soon my new MCS CR/W will have the plate "BLUDY L" (just like my screen name). DC approved the plate and in 3 - 5 weeks I should have it.

MO doesn't require this..KS does. Guess which side of the state line is more expensive to insure due to the higher percentage of uninsured drivers.

Not so dumb after all.

Ohio your proof is the fact that you sign some meaningless piece of paper stating that you have insurance. I'd rather they ask to see my VALID insurance ID card.

I've got SHIFTER in Michigan. Sort of a double meaning...6-speed trans/shape shifter.
