i just wanted to share my joy with you all. today i ordered a cooper S from mini of the hamptons!! Its gonna be electric blue with white top, mirror caps and stripes, all three packages, and lapis interior.. they're giving me the lapis for $625 (half off)... i am very excited. i dont expect to recieve my baby until end of june or july. but its gonna be sweet! all i have to do now is sell my cooper by the time it comes!

I only have 1700 miles on my S since the last of Feb. Darn snow! It is a great car. Just curious, why switch from a Cooper? I didn't drive a Cooper when we were shopping for our car.

hmm, lets see.. there are many reasons why... 1 is that i got CVT and i love this car so much that CVT doesnt make me feel as much a part of it as i want to.
2 from the begining when i was looking at the coopers i really wanted electric blue and lapis interior but i didnt like the beefier look of the S (which i have grown to love and am kicking myself now for not liking then..)
3 i went to the dealership test drove it and ordered it that night.. didnt give much thought to the color combo, which i am not too fond of right now.
4 i wanna go faster
5 i guess cause i like the beefier look as i mentioned before..
i dunno.. but i have to do it now cause i feel like if i keep waiting the value of my cooper will depreciate to the point where i cant afford to sell it and pay the difference....

oh, I found these on the MINI2 site. MINI2 Personal Galleries

I started with the As and then jumped to Ds and then Ms,Ns until I found that last one showing the 16" wheels then gave it up.

When you click the letter, you can see little thumbnails of the last photo someone added to their gallery and when you go to their gallery you can see all of their photos. So I just started looking for thumbnails of Electric Blue with white stripes.

because i am special. ha.. thats not why. well its a weird story. i had been looking to sell my car a few months ago and went to hassel in freeport ny and they were using all their tricks to talk me into ordering an S... he said "what can i do that would make you leave here today having ordered the car?" and i said "hmm, i dunno give me the leather for free" and he said "ill see what i can do" he came back like 5 minutes later and said "we can only give you half off of the leather" so i said ok, i ordered but realized that that was a bad idea at the time so i cancelled it. and then recently, since i am ready to do it i called them back and they said they could still give me the same deal. i didnt want to buy it from them cause they suck.. so i called hamptons mini and told them what freeport was offering me and asked if they could match that. they said yes.. and they offer loaners.. so i was sold.

There are a lot of used Electric Blue MCS's for sale within 250 miles of the northeast. They are selling pretty cheap too. Around 21.5k I believe.

You might want to go used since they are available just as you want them and with low miles. At least you wouldn't eat the depreciation hit of a new car.

I mean, do what you want, but it is an idea. I know of 3 in the area. If you are interested I could snag the numbers and prices for you.

Or you can just do a search for coopers S on cars.com within 500 miles of zip 02472. They should pop up on cars.com and autotrader I believe.

they have them but they're not how i want them. and this is going to be the last car i get for a long time.. i dont want to settle with something that isnt what i want. y'know..

Electric blue are deffinatly the fastest you made a wise choice, dump the CVT and get an S a real S the only S is electric Blue! Congratulations

Hey, nomonsters. I just ordered my MCS and he's due in July as well. Electric Blue w/ white top/mirrors and bonnet stripes, 17"wheels and sport package. Wanted the "Works" package from John Cooper but was hard to justify the $6500 the dealer wanted for for the x-tra 35hp. Maybe our cars will be shipmates together?

He had a EB w/ Blue top in the lot but it didn't impress. Damn, whats with that gold color?

i got the alloy patina dash, that is my favorite and the door panels are grey.. i scuff that door panel up too much so i opted for the darker one. im thinking of getting the lapis shift ****... im definitely going to get a whalen shift **** so i dont know if it would clash with the blue fabric of the shifter.. y'know.. what do you think?

our cars will probably be made around the same time! you have to let me know what week yours is going to be made.. our cars will probably go through the whole process together.
are you getting white wheels or silver? im getting silver.. i wouldnt be able to deal with white getting dirty so fast.
that gold is hideous.. i saw it at the car show in NY.. still not a fan. yuk!

 

You will not be disappointed. It is the best thing since sliced cheese.
