R50/53 Interference w/ JCW exhaust & B&M short shift kit???
Interference w/ JCW exhaust & B&M short shift kit???
I was on outmotoring.com looking to purchase the B&M short shift kit and I noticed some fine print at the bottom of the page stating: "Fits the manual transmissions MINI Cooper, One and Cooper S but will MOST LIKELY have interference issues with the JCW exhaust on any MINI." (link)
Does anyone have both the JCW kit and the B&M short shift kit installed on their MCS? Or has anyone heard of this problem being a relevant issue? Should I buy the B&M kit or go with a different kit? Please advise.

Both are good products but the alta has a 45% maximum reduction while the BM is a fixed 27%. The Alta at its max reduction pushes everything south of the pivot ball down under the car quite a bit, so you should be able to use it but not at more than say (random guess) 30-ish % reduction before it hits the JCW resonator....if the SS adapters from Helix and mania fit (they are usually a fixed 27% as well and would yeild the same distance from the shift pivot point based on my understanding...
