Hi, I have an 06 Coop and wanted to know if there was a way to install the auto headlights option. I did not get it when I ordered my car and when I tried to add the option, my car was already in production. Thanks in advance.

 

The option is handy; I have it and it is kind of neat to see the headlights automatically turn on when the daylight level drops.

However, retrofitting the option is likely more hassle than it is worth. I doubt if the MINI dealer will sell you the parts (even if they did, you are looking at some serious cost). If you found a salvaged car to get the parts from, that might be an option, but how would you get the software loaded that controls the automatic function? It is very doubtful, that the computer from the salvage car would be a direct plug-in to your car, and, and, and....
