R50/53 How long can a man wait?
Hey everybody,
I've been on a waiting list since last July 2nd! Two reasons it's taken so long--one, I was waiting for an MCS with HK stereo, and two, I was waiting for MSRP in Southern California. Long Beach Mini, who have been great, told me when my order went in at the end of March that the car would arrive early to mid-June. The car is being built next week. I called MiniUSA and they confirm it is being built next week but then said it takes 6-8 WEEKS for the car to arrive after that! That's the middle of July!
My question is this:
What are your experiences with regard to wait time from order placement to delivery--particularly for those in California?
I can't take much more of this...

According to the announcement here on MCO, MINI of the Hamptons has MINI's and MCS's in stock at MSRP and ready to go. If I were you, I would shop around and call dealerships outside California to get your MINI so that you don't lose any more great summer motoring moments than necessary.
We have a production date of 5/23 going through East Bay Mini in the SF area and they are telling us 90 days from date of production?!!? Others have told me that's not right and to expect it in July (more like 60 days from production date). I hope they're right.
I waited 3 months for me MCS, and I was going mad just in that time. I'd never wait anything more than that. Especially a whole year.
Definitely shop around. Unless you have something fun to drive in the mean time to slightly make up for the fun that you could be having friving the MINI.
Cheers,
