What is the Class-ification of MINI ?

We all know that MINIs are in a CLASS by itself: : ,the way they look, drive, ect. But what class car are our MINIs? I have a MCSc is it a sports car or a compact car or sub-compact car or luxury sports car or ??? And how does the insurance companies sees it?

Minis are sub-compacts by US standards. The class of a car in the US is determined by trunk area. Yeah, I know... It's stupid. Believe it or not, the new Mustangs are considered compacts.

It's a sub-compact, but that doesn't describe it very well...

It's a sub-compact that runs, handles, and drives better than nearly anything that costs twice as much.

It's also a sub-compact with more available luxury features than Cadillacs of a few years ago.

The MINI is what small cars should aspire to be. Comparing a MINI to other small cars is like comparing Prime Rib to a Krystal (or White Castle) gutbomb.

Please refer to White Castles in the proper slang: sliders (or slyders), or belly bombers.

Thank you.
