D, F and G. Although I really like the retro look of the center speedo. They really ruined it on the 07's though.

I dont know why the Chrono Pak gets no respect. I like having the extra info as well as the gas guage that is over 180 degrees. I also don't like everyone in the car knowing how fast I am going.

C D & F. I only wish it had a Voltmeter. Besides, after market guages can (not always) look very tacky.

B.) Because the big speedo is ugly.
C.) Because I dont want to look at the middle of the dash to see my speed!!!!
D.) Because the chrono has extra gauge info.
F.) I want me speedo behind the steering wheel.

Mainly D and F, but B and C as well. Having the speedo and tach where God intended them to be, right behind the steering wheel, was fairly important to me, and I wanted the extra gauges, which are very real, and do give useful information. I've had aftermarket oil pressure and oil temperature gauges installed in another car before, and they responded basically the same as the factory Mini chrono pack extra gauges.

I'm very disappointed Mini decided to force its quirky center-speedo styling on us all for the new model, and while it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me not getting a new one, it is a factor nonetheless.

For me, it was originally H - I bought off the lot, and my car was the only one in my price range that had the sport package and LSD. Now though, it's much more D, F, and G. I'm really glad to have it.

C, D, & F.

That's more than enough reasons. Any one of those would have been enough.

D & G,
It adds to the whole SPY package of the car.. more gauges, more circles.. just cool... uniqueness in a unique car I say!

I think somtimes about if i really wanted the center Speedo, but then it seems like its missing something.. I do like the NAV/Speedo in the R56, but wouldn't pay that price for it..

D. I wouldn't have a car much less one appraoching 2 HP per c.i. without a oil pressure gauge at least. Now if I did it again I'd like the oil pressure and oil temp in pods that are now avail from MINI or aftermarket and have the big speedo.

There are reasons other than price that some of us find the factory NAV completely unacceptable... but that'd be a other thread.

C.) Because I dont want to look at the middle of the dash to see my speed!!!!
D.) Because the chrono has extra gauge info.
F.) I want me speedo behind the steering wheel.
G.) It's looks really cool
H.) I bought my MINI off the lot, thats just what it had.
J.) Other Reason:

- That big center speedo just advertises things I'd just as soon my passengers have a tough time seeing
- I like the additional information, despite a quirky layout (show me ANYTHING on this car that's not "quirky"...)
- Nav systems are for people who can't read maps
- I didn't know there was a digital speedo in the tach on non chrono cars!

I second the above strongly!

My reasons for ordering the chrono pkg:
C.) Because I dont want to look at the middle of the dash to see my speed!!!!
D.) Because the chrono has extra gauge info.
F.) I want me speedo behind the steering wheel.
Z.) My wife's MINI doesn't have it so I learned what a pain it was to look at the center of the dash to see my speed. Displaying the speed on the OBC is okay except for when the bright sunshine comes through the side window and totally washes out the crappy orange display.

Not having the chrono pac (I wish I did, bought used) I keep my OBC set at speed all the time and read the digital readout all the time (not the center speedo) which is for retro, looks, quirky, whatever, to look like the original Minis.

Just D.

Plus, I like the idea that my info comes from a factory installed gauge. I would like to think it is more accurate than using an aftermarket one. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Am I?

LOL - if someone can look into the MINI, they know how fast you're going.

I got Nav because of C & F. And now she speaks British.

But mostly I wanted an analog gauge right in front of me.

Mostly D, but a little bit for F.

For the missing voltage, I even bought the accessory gauges that go down by the cig lighter. Since the oil temp would then be duplicated, I replaced that with a compass. Thought about getting an engine hours gauge, but opted for the compass. Not as useful these days with Nav, but I don't always have my portable nav in the car.

I'm sure you mean a gas guage with over 180º of needle sweep. Otherwise that's some pretty hot gas!

Just makes more sense and it looks like a motorcycle gauge pack!
