For those of you who want to know, the MINI Cooper is again pacing the Indianapolis Life 500 Festival Mini Marathon this weekend in Indianapolis, IN. It was the pace vehicle last year, and drew lots of wild eyes, since the dealer in town wasn't even open yet, and no one in town had one in their possession. It will apparently drive ahead of the race leaders for the mini marathon (13.1 miles for those who don't know). This is the largest mini marathon in the country with a cap at 25,000 entries. It sold out 2 months ago. Not sure what model or color combo is pacing this year. But Dreyer and Reinbold MINI raffled off a co-pilot's seat in it for the race at a MINI outing we had in town last weekend.

Couldn't find any on the web site for the dealer or the race, but they will probably have the car sitting in the race packet pick-up area. I will snap a view pics and will post them.

 

I took some pics of the "official timing car." They also had 2 others on display in the mini marathon packet pickup area.
