I'm in Massapequa. You got access to a lift and air tools? I'll come over and help with yours if I can get my new exhaust system in, as well. Otherwise, I gotta struggle with it on jackstands here.

I've been reading these damper threads the last couple of days, trying to figure out exactly where the difficulty lies in this mod. Basically threading one bolt into an existing threaded hole in the block and getting a nut on another bolt.
Unless, of course, it's that whole removing the dip-stick for more access room part

that actually sounds like a smart plan. damper install difficulty: 1 (out of 10 as hardest)
exhaust install difficulty: 2
still dont need air tools to do exhaust install.

let the engine damper master do his magic.
, how do I loosen up those rusted-almost-solid nuts/bolts that keep the front and rear togther when I can barely fit under there, I've sprayed WD40 on them several times, and they won't budge with hand tools? Hmm? HMMMM?

Breaker bar and a 2' length of pipe...something's bound to break free.
Air tools do tend to make most jobs easier (if you have access to them), if not, there's always more than one way to bust a nut...so to speak

I have two sets of ramps. One, the taller set, doesn't reach the tire because it hits the lowest part of the bumper when you try to shove it under there, and the other, which is lower, scratched up the plastic at the bottom when I tried to drive the car up to change the oil a few weeks ago. Neither set will fit under the side of the car so that I could drive all 4 wheels up two sets of ramps so I could really get under there.
I finally bought one of those 3-ton hydraulic floor jacks to make easier to get the car up enough to swing a wrench on the oil drain plug.
I need a lift, and a torch, neither of which I have.

+1 on the breaker bar - I've done this mod twice on two different MCS'es - both times those front bolts were rusted on tight. The breaker bar gave me just enough leverage to pop them loose. Mine was about 18" long -- I didn't need any additional pipe for leverage, also since the car was on jackstands there wasn't much room anyway.
hey zip- i use what i call a shorter 3/8 drive breaker bar.

you can also use a wrench and a mallet to tap it free.
